Government Land Policies

The Government Land Policies (GLP), contains whole-of-government policies and guidelines. GLP policies must be complied with by all State agencies which deal with Government property.  The policies aim to achieve consistent and effective management of the Government's property holdings.  They have been defined by the Government as the minimum requirement to be adopted in the asset management process.  All policies include a rationale and a specific objective.

The GLP policies fall under the following categories:

Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM)

  1. Acquisition Hardship Policy (DERM). This policy is to enable owners of property, over which the State government has released forward plans for future public infrastructure, to seek early purchase by demonstrating hardship.

Compulsory Acquisitions

The following guidelines are provided for reference by agencies conducting their compulsory acquisition business through DERM.
