State Government Leasing in Indigenous Communities
Standard terms lease document
A standard terms trustee lease document has been developed and is required to be used by State Government department agencies when negotiating all leasing in indigenous communities.
The lease has been registered in the Land Registry as a standard terms document – the dealing number is 712281595.

Leasing through the Department of Public Works
Further, the Department of Public Works is to coordinate all State Government department agencies leasing in indigenous communities.
Rent payable
All State Government department agencies are required to pay a fair rent.
It is proposed that the minimum rent payable for a government trustee lease will be regulated under the Indigenous Land Acts.
In the interim, the minimum rent to apply is $6,000.00.
